The way we dress and live is often guided by small ideas we return to every day. These five words reflect how I approach fashion, lifestyle, and everyday moments, each paired with an image I captured to bring the meaning to life.

  1. Practical

Being practical helps me shop in a way that actually makes sense for my life. Thrifting supports this by encouraging me to look for quality, versatility, and longevity rather than impulse buys. When I shop secondhand, practicality shows up in finding pieces that can be styled multiple ways and worn over time.

  1. Versatile

Versatile is about being open to trying new things and letting different interests exist together. Exploring different music genres feels similar to being open to new foods, clothing styles, or routines in everyday life. It’s about curiosity and not limiting yourself to one lane. The options are limitless when I go to record stores!

  1. Create

Create is about expressing yourself and turning ideas into something real. It shows up in everyday life through experimenting, learning, and making things feel personal instead of copied. Sewing is one way I bring that into my own life, whether it’s altering a piece or creating something from scratch. Creating through sewing reminds me that style is personal and doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s to matter.

  1. Explore

Explore is about breaking out of routine and doing something different, even if it’s small. I like changing things up, seeing new places, and just taking everything in without a plan. Going to New York City for the day felt like that, walking around, people-watching, and letting the city inspire me. Exploring doesn’t always have to be some big trip, sometimes it’s just leaving your comfort zone for the day.

  1. Intentional

Being mindful of choices instead of just going through the motions helps me be intentional. It shows up in everyday life through slowing down, thinking things through, and doing things with purpose. When it comes to my outfits, intentional means getting dressed in a way that feels true to me rather than following every trend. Choosing pieces that fit my style, mood, and lifestyle makes getting dressed feel more personal and put together.
